Vin and Roman

I wish there was a bigger picture of this. I like Vin with his dogs, and the colors are beautiful. (Roman's a Cane Corso/Italian mastiff/Neapolitan mastiff - which seems to be the same breed by some people and not by others.)

I was googling around a while back for pics of Cane Corsos and Neapolitan mastiffs, and honestly, Roman looks like a blend between the two. I don't imagine he is, but that's what he looks like. The Neapolitan body seems to be a lot shorter and more massive, so Roman's body looks Cane Corso-like to me, but the Cane Corsos don't seem to have quite the jowly faces that the Neapolitans do, so the face looks kind of Neapolitanish.

So I went looking for them at the AKC website. Because I am obsessive before coffee! :D

Based on these, I think he's a Cane Corso.

But regardless! He's a gorgeous dog with a gorgeous owner. :D

Well at least from these it seems fairly obvious that Cane Corso and Neapolitan mastiff are two different breeds. Because I have come across posts where they call the Cane Corso and Italian Mastiff as the same thing.

And hey, cool. I'm pretty sure I heard Vin call him a Cane Corso but then I've also seen newspaper articles call him a Mastiff (but hey, newspapers ar efamous for being wrong and I know they've also called Roman a Pitbull which it's obvious he isn't)

Not sure what Wilson is though.. I think is his other dog's name.. ? I haven't been active and alert in Vin fandom ina while other than gallery designer/maintainer and also, I'm not on Facebook so I could be totally out of date LoL

Heh. You're one up on me - I didn't even know what his other dog's name was. Is there a big Vin fandom on facebook? Might be a reason to use the place...(I really hate facebook).

There appear to be about a billionty-one different breeds of mastiff -- I was excited by the Tibetan Mastiff! Check these guys out - so gorgeous!

Ohgod, now I've managed to spend half an hour looking at dogs that I will never be able to afford and wouldn't buy if I could (I'm a determined shelter-pet person). But wow, there sure are some awesome dogs in the world. :)

* On November 10, Vin's Facebook profile crossed the 7 million fans mark. Can you believe that? Try picturing 7 million fans, you could easily populate an entire country with them! With that, Vin passed President Obama's Facebook page and has now the most popular profile for a living celebrity ranking at #2 in the overall stats; #1 still belongs to the King of Pop.
* All you Riddick fans out there, pay close attention to his Facebook posts because he's been hinting quite a bit at a possible new Riddick sequel lately. Since some of his posts come with pics, they go "missing" in his photo album after a while, so if you need to catch up, here's the place to be.

Beautiful dogs. Unfortunately I work too much or I'd have had a dog in no time. I still miss my childhood dog. But alas, I got a big ol' cat instead and he's great in his own way - plus he doeasn't demand long walks in puring rain or when it's snowing sideways. Hmm... maybe I have grown lazier with age LoL
